Several controlled studies comparing blue-light-filtered screens to unfiltered screens at typical evening brightness levels have found smaller effects on sleep onset and quality than commonly assumed — in some cases, no significant difference at all. Overall screen brightness and the mentally stimulating nature of the content (a stressful email versus a calm podcast) appear to matter at least as much as the specific wavelength.
What actually helps more
